the strong dollar policy instituted by Rubin in the 90s was superb for our economy and I'd like to see it get instituted again. Unfortunately we BUY more than our trading partners sell of our goods. Consequently a strong dollar helps us more than hurts us. Of course the trade imbalance is part of the issue with a declining dollar but there are structural problems that need to be addressed before any western nation can compete with china on price alone. When we get back to a strong dollar, we will have more foreign investment and better corporate capital with higher stock prices.

Yes, but that is a secret not to be told during the campaign...(ggg)

However with the econonmy turned around and growing again, the dollar has been coming back.
