Disagree, Nadine. I think an attack in the US designed to influence the election would simply harden positions already taken.

I once thought as you did. After presenting the question to a number of people who do not agree with me, I learned that such an event would probably not change how they would vote. It would simply confirm what they already thought, i.e., time for a change, Bush Administration inept, etc.

I suppose it could influence the undecided vote, but I really can't say how.
