I don't like Rumsfeld at all. His pedigree involves an upgringing by McNamara, the failed, bean counting Sec of Defense in Vietnam who lost Vietnam for us and sent a worldwide message that the U.S. was a lot weaker than it appeared and the the U.S. will cave and withdraw if it suffers any casualties.
