That Zinni interview was very worthwhile. Too bad many of the folks who will vote for Bush never watch 60 Minutes.

On a rather depressing note, at a neighborhood barbecue the other night, with people who are all at least middle class or upper middle... all with college degrees: Most went into defensive mode when I asked the question "What do you think will happen with the Presidential election in November?"
Most answers were to the effect of: "The President has a lot of important information we don't have or know about. Furthermore, I don't WANT to know about some things. We are better off just letting the people in charge take care of our national security".
Classic know-nothing citizenship. All college graduates but only a few read anything more than the weekly free shopper thrown on their driveways. They certainly don't read the local daily paper, and probably watch local news for the weather and sports. And they'll mostly vote for Bush unless gasoline goes to three bucks a gallon. THAT might actually get their SUV-Minivan driving attention.
