You said that the fact of evolution removes the ability to "judge between right and wrong"."Obviously: That's my point. Having reduced Man to just a product of evolution you (not I) have removed the ability to "judge between right and wrong". " The ability to judge between right and wrong relies on the ability to assess and evaluate. There is nothing in the "logical choice of the evolutionist" which prevents or precludes the capacity to be objective."The logical choice from a strict evolutionary standpoint is "might is right". " If such a concept was logical we could discuss it! But you are being ridiculous! "Might is Right" is a value held by people with ultimate power or people whom are moronic or insane. Evolution involves competition for survival. We are lucky enough to eat a lot of animals and plants without much opposition. However, it would be absolutely illogical for anyone (Atheist, Christian, Hindu, or Jew) to believe that treating one another without regard or respect is in our best interest. You admit that there is nothing in evolution which prevents people from playing the piano, yet you still insist that evolution prevents people from acting with intelligence? This is surely a contradiction! And why an atheist, in particular, should employ the logic that "might is right" is something you assert without explanation. What you are really doing by babbling that atheists cannot judge between right and wrong is simple character assassination. I mean how stupid is stupid? We can do algebra and play the piano, but we can't send flowers or hold a baby? You have dug yourself into a stupid hole, Greg, and there is no way out except to admit you are a first-class bigot. As I said to you: "We have HUMAN Nature to derive ethics from. Please get the first lesson--OK? HUMAN ethics derive from HUMAN Nature. Human beings reason; they desire and they fear. When humans associate...a concern for survival, safety, and happiness is most rationally met by treating one another according to certain objective standards. Mostly this means protecting life and property from harm. Holy cow! That is just so complicated, eh Greg! How can people possibly think, judge, and value if evolution is true?! " Might is Right is NOT a logical choice. I have demonstrated to you time and again that there is nothing logical about "might is right" as an ethic. It is basically the hope for totalitarianism and slavery--as well as fear, uncertainty, danger, and unhappiness. There is nothing logical that would lead the average person to embrace such an ethic. You are simply demonstrating your bigotry, and attempting to deflect attention away from the other ridiculous things you have been asserting of late. Surely, if evolution made everybody idiotic then the idiocy would go across the board. Someone (an atheist) unable to use logic to formulate an intelligent ethic of living in peaceful co-existence with others for mutual benefit, would also be unable to play the piano or total their grocery bill. By the way, atheists DO NOT eat their food live because it seems (to you) such a logical choice! They buy their food in the store and they eat from a plate!!
