Plus, I dont think ANY AMOUNT of troops could stem terrorists unless the POPULATION helps (see Israel for that), and the more troops we have in Iraq the more it will feel like an Occupation force and not liberators.

After 1 year there is one thing we know for sure, the POPULATION will not help. Not now, not ever, never.

Extra troops are also not an option in your eyes.

The only option left is withdraw. Or am I missing something.

General Zinni was well regarded by the Bush Administration. He was placed in charge of CENTCOM in the middle east before they discovered he was opposed to the Iraqi invasion.
