Mike,
Did you see zinni on 60 minutes. This was no leftist critique of the war and its aftermath. It was a call for a larger army and a recognition that these guys who brought us this rapid victory in iraq failed miserably in planning for pacification.
These guys now remind me of my cousin bob. When he was 16 he got his girlfriend pregnant. They decided to break up in the hopes that it would go away. Is that what the bush team or the dod or cia expect to happen with iraqi insurgents? Mike you are arguing here against your natural instincts to call a spade a spade and a failed policy a failed policy.
Hopefully bush can articulate an improved more realistic policy today but he probably wont because his handlers are as blind as some of the folks who are still supporting certain individuals in the govt. You know, one can still be a neocon without supporting the strategy and tactics of this war/pacication. If neo con means bringing democracy, it does not follow that the effort be done on the cheap. Mike
