I hope India learns something from the economic reform in China. Single-minded pursuit for the GDP growth is NOT that hard, the hard part is to let more people benefit from the reform. The two are often times having a reverse relationship, and there is a delicate balance bet. the two. Last year, SARS actually served a purpose of a wake-up call for the Chinese gov. to pay some attention to the poor's social, especially health care, need.
