Pam - SNDK makes things which can change the whole basis upon which these products were previously based.

For instance d-cameras. Looking forward I have posted here about what CF and SD is doing to video cameras. I wonder how muich of the cost of a video camera was made up of the tape transport? Now although most people have not noticed this one it is happening.

I predict that within two years flash memory video cameras will have overtaken tape based video cameras. That is quite a big market and I haven't seen a lot of analyst comment on it. Perhaps you could point me to some.

Another example,.. I-pod. Take the 20Gb version. Quite a uselful size. Needs five 4GB flash cards or a moving hard disk with lots of battery power. At the moment 5, 4 GB MLC cards are going to be expensive to the consumer. but they are not very expensive for SNDK/Toshiba. So...if the rest of the device is very cheap, the memory is the guts of the device. In effect it is SNDK that could be making a 20GB flash card that also contains a player/amplifier/sorter chip/software and there it is.

Sooner or later my guess is that SNDK/Toshiba will do this and make the product.

Just some thoughts.

Best,

L
