Hi Steve,

I am sure you meant Pam and not Jill but thats ok.

You are right about the breadth of Sandisk's product portfolio. They are the best positioned and have a good Lic/Royalty income too and now starting 3Q even the lowest cost producer. I don't know if you read about Samsung crying foul when they saw that Toshiba/Sandisk have a 4Gbit 90nm MLC chip ready to go into production. They have been complaining that the MLC chip is slower, blah, blah..

The other thing about Lexar and Kodak- Again a blunder by Kodak management. They should have partnered with Sandisk instead of Lexar. Now there are two middlemen for a product whose raw material they don't even produce! There will be a constant pressure on margins. Of course it is more of a disaster for Lexar than Kodak. Kodak probably doesnt have much to lose but they could have gained if they would have partnered with Sandisk. This merger is like HP and Compaq- two stones when tied together sink faster not slower! I have a lot of respect for HP's other businesses, I mean, other than their PC business.

Regards,
Pam
