Hi Andrew,
I will chill a bit in this post. If you look at past presidential votes, you will see that core constituencies of each party and philosophy is about 40-40. In blowout years, LBJ in 64, Nixon 72, Reagan 80 and 84, and Clinton 96, winning party can get close to 60%. That 20 number is very fickle and is where i find myself today. For the first time in a long time, republican 40% is sounding much like the democrat 40% has sounded---shrill, arrogant, and smug. And it's all over their inablity to admit either a personal error in outlook or one by this administration. The truth of the matter is that if we had McCain as President in 2000, policy might be considerable different and the same 40% represented here on this thread, would be here praising McCain, not burying him. Same goes for Lindsay Graham who kissed and made up with hillary on Fox, Dick Luger, Chuck Hagel and a host of others(including not a few generals) who have expressed misgivings on how this war has been fought.
