There is no doubt that the economy is in recovery mode. Of course, it usually takes a while for people to actually start feeling a recovery, which is why Bush will probably be in trouble this fall. If economic growth, which is currently rather strong, stalls this summer or is uneven, then Bush is a goner. States like AR, PA, MI, OH and WV need to see economic growth. That's got to be the reason Bush is behind in the OH polls recently. OH is a pretty conservative state. Look at all their state and federal pols, almost all Rs. Bush being behind by 7 or 8 points in OH is bad news. Of course, he might just make it all up in PA, which is suprisingly close this year. PA is also rather conservative in it's center, which is probably why Bush is holding strong there, but I think the Dems will rally in PA and those under the radar and Nader voters will come out and put Kerry over the top. It doesn't hurt that Kerry is from another Northeastern state. There is something to regional identification in politics.
