I didn't say "active IDF", either. "Actively involved in conflict" is what I said.

The author was worried about "what is this conflict turning us into." The way you look at the world, apparently that means all Jews. That's not the way I look at the world.

Maybe the author looks at the world the same way you do, one tribe against another tribe, "us" against "them." That's not the way I saw it, and it's not the way I see it.

The real question is not 'why are Israelis held to higher standards than Hamas?' but "how did it happen that Hamas is now held only to the standards of Hamas" - in short, Hamas' massacres of the innocents are widely accepted.

And now you're returning to your regularly scheduled topic, and this is where I bid this discussion adieu.

It ooccurs to me that we are seeing the birth of the same dynamic as applied to the US. The ME populace is holding us to a civilized standard of conduct whereas terrorists and thugs are being held to their own. Witness the muted response from the ME to the Berg decapitation, the joy expressed at the charred bodies hanging from the bridge, etc.

Where will this take us in the future? Nowhere pleasant, I fear.
