I like the idea of "getting more out of it", as opposed to "put more into it": efficiency. That means concentrating on the entropy law and trying to push the limit there. We are, after all/hopefully, turning from an energy-oriented into an information-oriented society.

Of course I know that, whatever humanity thinks and does, both thermodynamical laws I and II together are always present on the scene as a (very hard) backdrop. And that efficiency means also playing games the cooperative (or even the apparently altruistic) way. But what do we care, it's the price of gasoline at the pump that matters.
