Capacity ramp ahead of schedule at 12-inch fab of Inotera Memories

Hans Wu, Taipei; Esther Lam, DigiTimes.com [Tuesday 25 May 2004]

Inotera Memories, a 12-inch wafer venture of Nanya Technology and Infineon Technologies, sees capacity and yield rates ramping ahead of schedule by two months and DRAM output to the parent companies is expected to pick up from the second half of this year, according to sources from DRAM module makers.

The sources indicated that Inotera will output 500 12-inch wafers this month and the amount will be doubled from June. Inotera produces wafer on a 0.11-micron process and the company is producing 1,500 die on each 12-inch wafer, the sources added.

The vice president of Nanya, Pei Lin Pai, stated that the company expects Inotera to output 24,000 12-inch wafers at year-end, according to a recent interview.
