I don't think so Bob - here's my take:

The Pillars of Bush:

1. Reduced tax rates will grow the economy in China and India and increase individual wealth and opportunity for very rich people, and hey, we'll all be dead when our children pay for it.

2. Free markets generate the greatest domestic well being in China, India and Mexico.

3. Replacing Sadam in Iraq makes us not a bit safer, it just gives terrorists a new place to breed and kill Americans. It's a great recruitment tool for Osama.

4. The legal system should enforce laws that regulate women's bodies and the personal behavior of citizens.

I'm all for free markets. While Bush Sr. signed the North American Free Trade agreement into existence (great); Bush Jr. needs to deal with rising protectionism (which he is not).

That's not to say that Kerry will do any better on that file - protectionism has a fairly predictable 4 year cycle, rarely broken, it seems, no matter who is in the White House.

Bush's tax cuts have not made us wealthier, only the top 1% maybe. The rest of us have to pay higher local taxes, tuitions, energy costs and health costs under Bush, all of which more than make up for whatever crumbs Bush threw us so he could make the fat cats fatter.

Bush has also loaded us up with huge deficits and debt, devalued the dollar, lost jobs and diminished wages and benefits of the jobs he has created. Further, he has polluted our environment more and made us more dependent upon Arab oil.

Saddam was an evil man but did not attack us and did not have WMD's. Bush's war in Iraq has made us less safe, less wealthy, less popular and has us in a big fat mess with no end in sight unless we get a new president in there fast.
