There have been a number off successful CO2 floods to increase oil production from old fields. When the oil finally is all gone, just leave the CO2 there....

Also could use waste heat - steam - to enhance recovery.

Build one near the oil sands, or near heavy oil, like bakersfield, California, Venezuela.

Also remember that nuclear is even cleaner.

I didn't realize that Clean Coal was just a euphemism for better burning techniques and better emission controls on coal burning plants.

It definitely sounds like something coal companies should pour more funding into - just like pork ranchers collectively fund the development of leaner pork through an assessment on each pound of pork sold.

Every major oil company spends huge sums on research departments to produce clean burning oil, obtain better product yields during refining, achieve higher production levels and improve exploration.

ChevronTexaco alone spends more than $1 billion each year on oil (core) technologies, alternate energy, and nano-technology.

One source of pollution, we all kind of ignore or acquiesce, is airplanes' emissions. A typical example of the "Tragedy of commons".
