That is an interesting article. I think that to any 'objective' Israeli they can understand what The Palestinians are going through and why they behave the way they do. My own personal view is that (best case) Israel will actually go the way of South Africa - there are similarities and differences, but it does show that it is possible. The catch is that The Palestinians have to have a Mandela type persona and an element of 'lets sort it out'. This is exceptionally hard to do at the moment and will be for at least a couple of generations. The problem is that the current version of Israel is being allowed to continue due to unwavering support from foreign fundamentalist Christian and Jewish elements. -macavity

A friend of mine wrote to me recently:- "The Abu Ghraib Incident is but just a symptom of us human beings. The shoot is just giving us a preview of the conditon of the root. The root is actually here right in USA and UK. Many think that the Nazi Gestapo and the Japanese Kempetai and the Ruusian NKVD were bad. They have all almost disappeared but the evil have reappeared in not only among WW II victors and WW II prisoners, in the US as well as in Israel. That is, the ones who defeated the Nazis and the Japanese and the ones who suffered from them are repeating the same characterstics of their adversaries ! It is almost unbelievable ! Where else has this come from if not in from our genes ! The descendants must have been well nurtured by their parents who survived the horrors of WWW II and Hotel Hanoi and Pyongyang, North Korea. However, the dominating reptilian genes transcribed into bullying tactics have reemerged for the whole world to see in unlimited graphics of what "righteous yankee cowboys" and " former prisoners" can do under different conditions !
