Ann, Nobody has ever mentioned any information coming out of these atrocities and all the experts say this sort of thing is not productive. Nah, it was just typical "we're Americans and we can do anything we want" behavior. Not all Americans act that way, but the minority is large enough to make the world think we are all like that.

Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney have hit home runs in the lie department...remember their national addresses about the "grave and gathering threat" and the "imminent threat" we faced from Saddam...? They used platforms like Meet The Press and deceived Americans...They forced Colin Powell to use faulty intelligence when he went before The United Nations to make a case for war...Notice how Bush and Cheney have NEVER spent a day on a battle field -- THEY CLEARLY DO NOT REALIZE WHAT IT MEANS FOR WAR TO BE A LAST RESORT...I want a president who will not lie but who will also vigorously challenge the assumptions of those reporting to him...I want a president who will verify claims before sending our country into an elective war that could jeopardize our nation's credibility for generations to come...I want strong leadership in the Oval Office...CONgress has failed to hold Mr. Bush accountable for his actions... commondreams.org
