Excellent point. During the 8 fiscal years ending 2003, Intel repurchased 1,344 mln common shares .. and 702 mln option shares were exercised .. while reducing common shares outstanding by 81 mln.

Therefore, Ali's $32B POV is reduced to $16B ($30.8B * 702 / 1344) .. even before trying to estimate an impact on cash compensation, had options not been used.
