Re: Iran.

Regardless, we've eliminated their great enemy Saddam... and those US troops won't be there forever....

Duped and used by the Iranians?

PS - how the hell did Chalabi get his hands on highly classified US intelligence secrets? Who gave the documents to him? When will they be arrested and charged with treason?

After losing millions fighting a war they couldn't win againtst Iraq, why not have a patsy do the work for you. When we leave, and we can't stay there forever, Iran will incite a civil war, and come to the aid of the Shites, who will then merge with their Iranian counterparts.

France, Russia, Germany and China insisted Wednesday that Iraq's interim leaders travel to New York for a meeting with the Security Council before they will vote on a U.S. and British resolution supporting Iraq's political transition.

France, Russia, Germany and China. It is not a good thing for the US if these 4 countries are uniting against America.
Give it a few years or more, but on the long run things will be real ugly for the US. Too many people on the other side. 3 years ago this was unthinkable. (Almost) every country wish to be friends with the US.

I believe the chance the US will win the War on Terror (which I truely hope) is far, far bigger if you have these 4 countries on your side.

With Kerry on the wheel it is likely to happen. With Bush it is almost impossible. He lost his credibility, the worst that can happen to a 'CEO'.

Paul
