The article I posted didn't say that. The fact of the matter is that Al Qaeda has been here since the 1990's, thanks to the lack of action by previous administrations to deal with the terrorist threat. In fact, the 18,000 terrorists the article speaks about were trained in Afghanistan during the 1990's & it continued right up until the Bush Admin routed the Taliban - again due to our seriously failed policies of past Administrations to deal with the obviously growing terrorist threat & the steadily increasing attacks from Al Qaeda on American interests here & abroad. Have more terrorists come to America since 9/11? Sure. We have been & continue to insist on being an open society. Any determined individual or groups of individuals are going to have some success in entering America. The liberal left insists that we are not allowed to "profile", so that seriously hinders the efforts of Homeland Security, ET AL. If you had followed this thread at all, you would see that many liberals (politicians, media & individuals) have done their best to be obstructionists in the WOT, rather than give a 100% effort in winning the WOT. They have politicized a serious risk to our safety, economic well being & to our country, purely for political gain. Instead of doing everything possible to help, they spend their time & resources obstructing practically everything regarding the WOT. This is a serious loss of valuable resources that is actively working against success. It also takes other resources away from the effort that could be used to make us safer (we do after all, have to deal with & respond to their efforts to thwart Homeland Security & fighting the WOT on all fronts). I have no doubt that this has significantly increased the probability that one or more serious terrorist attacks will happen on our soil. Spin it any way you wish. Deny this harsh reality if you wish. IMO, this thread has clearly documented this sad reality since 9/11. It factually & accurately supports my POV.

What a load of BS. If they didn't raise the threat levels when they had gathered evidence that warranted it & a successful terrorist attack had happened, you & many other liberals would have used that as proof that the Bush Admin failed us again. Bottom line. There was evidence that warranted serious concern & Homeland Security acted appropriately. That nothing happened may be due to the increased activities that raising the threat levels automatically puts into place. As usual, folks on the left have used it as another opportunity to make political hay. What else is new?
