Not only does the liberal left attempt to defend outrageous behavior, treacherous comments & slanderous allegations, the liberal media won't give it the same treatment they give to stuff like Bush's "asshole" comment about Sy Hersh. That got 24/7 headline coverage for a couple of weeks, replete with expressed outrage by journalists & every liberal politician they could get a microphone in front of. The double standard goes beyond hypocrisy IMO. It's also a political calculation.
