I just saw a poll that more people would like to attend a bar b que with Bush than Kerry. That tells me the perception of Kerry as you described isn't nearly the same. All people see is what they see on TV. He appears like Bob Dole on TV. Bob Dole too was as you describe in person. If Kerry is seen like Bob Dole...very very bad.
