Or perhaps it's been impossible to reconcile the domestic priorities, particularly since people have strong and opposing views on many issues. In the circumstances, it is often easier to create diversions or focus attention elsewhere. Once again, you've hit the nail right on the head. That is true, there is a lot of domestic discord regarding how to spend our money domestically. Honestly, I'd rather see the money spent domestically on something I don't particularly agree with, than on some far flung country like Iraq. I can't believe people can get excited about spending money on Iraq while the schools and roads around them are crumbling. It's missplaced priorities, unless you're a wealthy elite who has an interest in maintaing the oil empire, in which case it's money well spent to ensure your invest grows. Which comes down to who controls the government? It sure isn't the guy on the street trying to make a living, it's the oil tycoon with interests and focus overseas. You know, one thing most people don't understand is that the wealthy elites, I mean the really wealthy in this world, have a lot more in common with each other and have common financial interests, than in the countries in which they reside. That's why the focus is always overseas, that is where their financial interests reside, not domestically.
