<<Let there be no more sanctimonious claims here as to who wins the award for partisan hatred.
Even if meant in jest, the fact that you advocated the killing>>

Did I say kill?? If I had meant kill I damn well would have said kill. See? I can even spell the word.

I listened to Gore's speech on C-SPAN radio a couple of hours ago. I disagreed with his arguments, but did not find his tone of voice and volume to be disturbing. It was congruent with the tone of the entire speech, which reminded me very much of a Southern Baptist sermon, full of fire and brimstone and banging on the pulpit. Gore, of course, is a Southern Baptist, who flunked out of divinity school so became a politician.

Actually, citing chapter and verse of the Book of Matthew and using that as the theme of the speech bothered me more. Bush makes vague allusions to "evildoers" and that rubs people the wrong way. Gore gives chapter and verse of the New Testament as the theme of his speech and nobody turns a hair.

At any rate, back to tone of voice and volume. You hear that type of thing on the radio all over the country on Sunday mornings out in the country, especially black Baptists. Mixing it with politics is what seems strange to me.

This is exactly the kind of pointless, juvenile, gasbag whining that makes liberals look like such mean-spirited, spoiled adolescents.
