Perhaps the easiest way out of most, if not all potential major embarrassments, for Saddam himself and for the US, is for Saddam to die a natural death sooner than later. But then again, maybe not.

BTW, it seems to me that the Shi'ite, Chalabi (self-declared best friend of the US), who has family and business ties in Iran had been planning to become president of Iraq or its head of state with the support of defectors and exiles and the US (before he fell out of favour recently with the US). And he would no doubt, if ever he became president, play the Iran card against the US and the US card against Iran.

Things are getting interesting. Let's wait and see.

BTW, I heard that a orange to red alert has been planned for the next few months just so to keep the citizenry on edge and be ever alert to the terrorist menace.

Some of my friends told me recently that, at Miami airport, they were subjected to thorough and painstaking searches by nobody somebodies who unabashedly enjoyed giving them a rough time. I believe searches at airports will get to be more than onerous in the months ahead.
