Buddy, divided govt. also may have kept us out of Iraq. The fact that the Congress and Executive branches were controlled by one party was part of the reason Congress rolled over and played dead for the march to war. Though it is not the only reason. Many times one party govt. held one branch or the other's feet to the fire to prove their case.
