Kerry is a life-long hunter and weapons owner. You are totally full of it. He completely believes in the 2nd amendment, just not assault rifle ownership which threatens our national security, and letting crooks and wackos have guns without a decent waiting period. He basically believes in the Brad Bill as everyone should. Nobody in the US needs assault rifles or guns on demand while they're on drugs or crazy with jealousy. A cooling off period and record check is perfectly reasonable.
