There are a lot of nuts in the NRA and militia groups.
They're just as dangerous as Arabs. But the war on terror doesn't include them I guess even though they terrorized us in the past. So did the left-wing in the late 60's BTW, I know. All extremists groups are equally bad when heavily armed. That's why we need to ban assault weapons and make sure cops have more firepower than the bad guys.
