As I've explained before an Assault Rifle is a select fire rifle that is classified as a fully autmatic weapon that fires more than one projectile per pull of the trigger. The AWB (which wasnt a ban at all) has nothing to do with assault rifles. The NFA applies to machine guns. You can buy pre ban assault weapons today even with the AWB in place. The firearms are simply a little bit more expensive. They have all the cosmetic features the anti-rights anti-gunners hate--because they only understand cosmetics not how the guns really operate. You can legally buy machine guns today also. Nobody is complaining about that!
