US too had links with AQ, and Osama definitely has proven good links to US. At one time, Saddam was also a special good buddy trading partner of US.

Yes, I know.

As a matter of fact, Saddam was considered useful as a stabilizing force in the ME and Bush Sr. didn't bother to march on to Baghdad in the Gulf War (1990/1991).

Colin Powell and Schwarzkopf had wanted to get him. But Bush Sr. stopped the war after the Iraqis were driven out of Kuwait.
