If I knew Bush took seriously the moral issues that are the basis for every single one of our problems, from the escalating debt, to crime, to declining education, I would eagerly support him. I cannot eagerly support him just because Kerry is a wretch. At best, it will help me vote for him as a means of voting against Kerry. But it will not make Bush "my" candidate. As it is, there is no major political voice representing me. I understand that that is because I am increasingly a general oddity in America, as my excellent, well-educated children, my solid heterosexual marriage and completely debt-free life indicate, but I still wish for a candidate who openly shares, loves and defends my values. Bush is not that candidate.
