I didn't suggest that all politicians don't do it.

The "defer the nomination" ploy was just a recent example.

My initial intent had not even been to get to that
point, since it appeared that Chinu was simply misinformed.

His posts seemed to take the position that people were
making up the fact that Kerry had indicated an
intention to defer acceptance of the nomination to
facilitate fundraising.

That happened to be true and was certainly never denied by the Kerry camp; therefore Chinu's comments were nonsensical.

This controversy had been covered in the press for days.
Maybe Chinu was on Mars:-)
