They do not promote totalitarianism. Nor do they hate guns. I don't know how you come to this conclusion. Your logic is tortured. Jennings made a comment about healthcare in Cuba. Big deal. That does not mean that he supports Cuba as a proper representative government. You are the one that connected the dots there. He's simply reporting about the healthcare in Cuba. Now the issue of healthcare alone does not frame a conclusion on whether a dictatorship is also good. This is the tortured path of your logic, and your logic alone. Jennings does not share that support of Castro, nor of dictators in general. Reagan supported, and armed Saddam. Does the logic follow then that the republican party supports dictators? Now if it is true that the healthcare system in Cuba does a good job of serving the people's healthcare needs, should that not be reported? Would that somehow then qualify as rightwing spin? To deny that their healthcare system is good? Does this somehow undermine Castro to not report on the healthcare system? You assert that if A, then B. But it is equally possible that if A, then C. For they are not mutually exclusive outcomes. But somehow you have forced yourself to only accept one of the possibilities, as you have closed your eyes to the other. That would be tortured logic, or rather illogical thinking. Coulter asserted yesterday that the abuses at Abu Ghraib were perpetrated by 6 or 7 malefactors. While this is a possibility, she asserts that with out question. There are other possible situations that could explain the abuse in the prison. One of those possibilities is that more than 6 or 7 malefactors were involved. She cannot show where the abuse began or ended with the supposed 6 or 7 malefactors. Nor can she explain how that behavior became common place, nor does she realize that MI was in control of that cell block. Or she does realize it and yet decides that reporting on healthcare in Cuba is tantamount to supporting Castro same as reporting on prison abusers is contrary to the efforts of the United States in Iraq, so let the truth be damned when it does not support our ideals. Such is the logic of the right wing. A tortured logic that cannot be supported by the ideals of freedom, truth and justice. The very ideals that you think you support by shielding oneself from the truth. Your logic follows that in order to have the truth we must shield ourselves from it. Orca
