Lok at McCain's voting record since Bush took power and you'll see he and Kerry were on the same side many times. There are a few differences but not as many as you might think. Kerry and McCain could definitely run together. reagan abd Hush Sr. also disagreed on many issues but got along fine. McCain's big decision is whether or not he's willing to make the leap and publicly come out against Bush. He'd probably love to, but knows it's risky and that many people will be furious with him. He'd have to be sure he had what it takes to mold a new GOP moderate/conservative majority. Frankly, Kerry doesn't even need McCain but if they ran together they would win by 20% or more.
