Something else not many people keep in mind is that in many of the places where UN troops are deployed, it was US forces that went in and controlled the situation so it was safe for the UN troops to enter.

The US has maintained 35,000+ troops in Korea for over 50 years.....


The original post from KLP established the context, which was recent peacekeeping operations/humanitarian issues. If you want to use Korea as an example, you should be addressing why US troops aren't in North Korea on a humanitarian mission.
