There are almost no blacks in the GOP. The very few there are get promoted, put onstage and in the spotlight as tokens to try and deflect charges of racism within the party. It's a fast way to a promotion for any black if he wants to join the GOP. But then he'd have to live with himself. There is still a lot of racism in the GOP, while just the opposite exists in the Dem party.
