Free trade in the manner proposed and passes is the equivalent of Worldwide redistribution of wealth. In this redistribution of wealth/jobs, everybody will be poor. The standard of living of those in Central America will be raised but they will still be poor. Americans standard of living will fall. The Cental American treaty is really bad agreement. If you are going to have free trade it has to be fair trade. To join the EU a country has to meet a rigorous economic test. The CAFTA and NAFTA dont have those economic test protections. CAFTA and NAFTA are essentially the equivalent of joing the US as a State. There are no tariffs between States. We have free trade between States.

Bush's tax cuts for the rich (especially the upcoming estate tax cuts) have and will send us falling into an abyss of debt, debt, debt, and gradually make the government unable to pay its bills at all. These policies are strictly gifts to the billionaire class, as well as a shift of the tax burden onto middelclass Americans. The CEO class should be grateful to Bush, andmany of the selfish ones are, but many wiser ones like Warren Buffett know Bush is wrong, wrong, wrong and that if the billionaires don't pay their fair share this country gradually goes into the crapper.

The Bushie rightwingers are the ones who created class warfare by stealing from the middleclass to give to the very rich. And there is no rational reason for it whatsoever. Furthermore, it creates no jobs except a few butlers, yacht crewmen and high-class hookers. What we need now to re-balance things is a luxury tax and a windfall profits tax. Let the very rich who benefitted now reimburse the middelclass whom Bush stuck with the tab.
