Would you say the following? Stalin was our puppet. A strange ally gone bad. No the Russian people were the innocent victims of our aggression not Stalin. Just as they were the victims of our supporting Stalin and allowing him to become the tyrant in the first place.

After all, we gave much much more support to Stalin during WWII than we ever gave Saddam during the Iraq-Iran war. It didn't make Stalin "our puppet". It didn't mean the Russian people were the innocent victims of our aggression not Stalin's.

Whitewashing Saddam and blaming all his crimes on the US was an inherently anti-American statement. Guess that's the kerry spiriters way of observing Memorial Day.
