"From news articles by optimists 55 years ago, the same ones who sid we would all commute by personal helicopters or have cars with wings. It was estimated the cost of energy could be dirt cheap- hahahaha
The mistake was in assuming that government investments belonged to the public, or that the public should somehow profit by them."

I remember reading that drivel about cheap nuclear energy in Popular Mechanics(around 55 years ago). I've since rejected those pipe dreams because the correct costs were not included.

There is no such thing as a free lunch which is what you are trying to claim. There has always been government investment into nuclear energy and that investment was not taken into account when claiming that nuclear energy would be "cheap". Nor were the costs of cleaning up a defunct reactor included.

As to fusion power, experts have been saying that fusion power is 30 years away since 1960. They still say 30 years away today.

A better use of the limited resources mankind has today would be to find a cure for HIV/AIDS and Maleria.

Mars? Waste of resources, too little bang for bucks. A stunt for Bush II's re-election.

As far as saving the former American system(the one that created America's greatness), Bush II is doing his best to destroy it through deficits, national debt, consumer debt, and the patriot act.
