James, I removed Real Player completely from my PC.

Which was a helluva job. I had to clean the registry over and over to get rid of every bit of it.

It's just like a virus. Slows down the computer, interferes with everything. Also Quick Time.

Instead I have now installed Real Alternative, which uses the "classic" WMP and a whole range of codecs to play all the different media files. At least now I can use one player for everything, and no more nagging pop-ups and wanting to update every day and download everything etc etc.

click-now.net

There is also a Quick Time Alternative

Both work well.
