The poor get almost nothing from the government.

Gee. Could have surprised me here. All that free education that the poor get is nothing. (The rich all send their kids to private school, so they pay school taxes but the poor and middle class get the benefits.) All that money spent on free legal defense is all going to the rich, right? The poor aren't allowed to use the mass transit subsidized by taxes, right? Or the roads paid for by taxes, right? AFDC doesn't go to the poor. Nor do Section 8 vouchers.

Pal, you live in a different world than I do.

Sure, corporations and the wealthy get benefits. Still do. Not all benefits go to the poor yet. Which is why I see the country lasting another 200 years.

But to suggest that the poor get almost nothing today is absurd.

Almost as absurd as supporting Kerry. I helped you get over that one. I can help you get over this one, too, if you'll just put yourself in my capable hands.
