Kerry Campaign: New Report Alleges Cheney's
Office 'Coordinated' No-Bid Halliburton Contract

According to a new report by Time Magazine: "Time has
obtained an internal Pentagon e-mail
sent by an Army Corps of Engineers official -- whose name
was blacked out by the Pentagon -- that raises questions
about Cheney's arm's-length policy toward his old employer.
Dated March 5, 2003, the e-mail says "action" on a
multibillion-dollar Halliburton contract was "coordinated"
with Cheney's office. The e-mail says Douglas Feith, a high-
ranking Pentagon hawk, got the "authority to execute RIO,"
or Restore Iraqi Oil, from his boss, who is Deputy Defense
Secretary Paul Wolfowitz. The e-mail says Feith approved
arrangements for the contract 'contingent on informing WH
(White House) tomorrow. We anticipate no issues since
action has been coordinated w VP's (Vice President's)
office.' Three days later, the Army Corps of Engineers gave
Halliburton the contract, without seeking other bids."

This will cost Bush another 2 points in the polls. By the
time Nov rolls around, Bush's rating will be in the
negative, much like his ads. Is anyone taking notes on
this? Pay attention Republicans, you'll learn something.

I tend to side with a group of economists that believe we are just entering another era of stagflation... fed by unbridled federal deficits, lack of savings, increasing foreign demand for basic commodities, world-record liquidity from the Fed (their "dollar destroying policy"), and a corrupt and disfunctional tax system.

As we are in the early innings yet, I wouldn't be too concerned with current price inflation --- you ain't seen nothing yet.

As to the rest (the 'self deception' part), I think that if there is any deceiving going on, particularly the self-inflicted kind, you may be in a class of your own.

Clearly, you haven't a clue about other's politics.
