Well, I have not documented it exactly, but my recollection is that every time a hurricane comes through the Gulf, natural gas futures pop up as traders anticipate a shortage. But the designers and operators of the platforms are not fools, and everything gets battened down till the storm passes on by, and shortly after that prices are back where they were before.

Much more powerful is the inexorable reduction, little by little, of the supply--and it seems that every new project for LNG is being blocked.

I look for $10 gas and $50 oil a year from now.
