Longnshort, I suppose I generally agree with you. <taxing the rich is a new event spawned by Marxists who couldn't get socialism so they settled for re-distribution > We have the same deal in NZ, with the electorate voting itself poor. India for 50 years voted itself poor.

Now, the government has just announced a world record redistribution of the "social dividend".

NZ remains on the skids down the OECD GDP per capita list.

We are now going to become a republic too [give it a few more years] instead of a monarchy. It'll be a banana republic.

And you should see the hideous national flags proposed to replace the excellent current one mch.govt.nz . Many proposals look like the Jolly Roger or real banana republic flags. I like the White Feather flag flags2000.com.au - what a joke and it's a serious proposition [it's supposed to be a silver fern].
