The thing I wonder about is if he thought he pulled the ultimate escape for political purpose. I bet he never dreamed how the "gig" would be up when it really counted. Then again - perhaps all he cared about then was getting out!

<The fact that John Kerry's conscience allowed him to accept a purple heart for a scratch, shows his lack of character.>
______________

It behooves me how a junior supporter can have to nerve to question the medals of a war hero when their own candidate was AWOL when he was supposed to be at his base during the war.

A better example of a person's lack of character is if they accept an honorable discharge after being AWOL (or a deserter if you really want to call a spade a spade.)

Hopefully all of us will look at the actions of the men running for President and question all their actions.

I appreciate that the democrats and republicans do not want to do this for their own candidates as much as they should, but, if one does not, then they are not voting for the best candidate after reviewing and seeing all the flaws of the person who wants to be President, but instead, they are nothing more than simple followers of their political party...and they do not get it...nor are they doing their civic duty.

People can disagree on their choice, but it should be based on the candidate, not the party as we see as the basis for the majority of decisions on this thread. Heck, people do not even understand their own parties that they so dearly love...
