So... you claim America has a 'morality problem'... but you STILL can't point to any other nation that has it better!
I can't see why this is even a logical requirement. It used to be, Buddy, that you, to escape the heat of summer with your wife and children, could all dress in your pajamas, get into your station-wagon, drive to downtown Washington, D.C., walk out on the Mall, stretch out a blanket and safely sleep with other families under the stars, near the monuments, in the cool of the night.
There is only one ultimate reason why you cannot do that today. It is not economics because the poor have always existed and in worst poverty than today.
Now the heinous fact of all this is seen in how it affects society. Frequent trips to the Mall with family help build and maintain family cohesion. Dad and Mom, with children, under the stars, makes for some mighty special times. When they are easily available, they tend to be employed more often, and since they solve a problem (i.e. heat), they will almost certainly be frequently employed. But they will not be employed if it means death, rape or assault. And so this is just one small way in which society is weakened by the problem I am mentioning.
In many cases you can't even sleep in your own backyard because of the same reason I have mentioned here.
We are forced to more greatly rely on other solutions to deal with such things as summer night's heat. Air conditioning, which stresses the environment in a multitude of ways and also increases pressure on families who not only must pay for the A/C units and their maintenance, but also for the much higher electricity bills that result of their use.
The problem I have mentioned here is insidious. It increases costs tremendously, and in ways we now take so much for granted, we no longer can even think of them. It ruins your quality of life, is responsible for Enron, spam, those lying sweepstakes ads you sometimes get in the mail.
What a cheery outlook on life you have, Johannes!
I just a few hours ago awoke from a lovely sleep after a night with my adorable wife. As long as she is in the world with me, and as long as our God is with us, it is all just fine, Buddy. I am looking at the America that once was and revealing to you that it is the country that has it better than yours.
Why do you even bother drawing breathe if 'it can't get any better'?
Well, of course, you won't understand this, but since you asked, I'll just tell you. I enjoy breathing in whatever circumstances I happen to be. It is all good, not just in America, but wherever I happen to be in freedom, this, regardless of how much money I have. I wish to preserve what I have and let it grow. This includes my very identity as a human and the philosophy that represents me. I am concerned for this because I want to see how much of me can be actualized before I move on to the next world. The more me I can be, the more I can devote to what really matters. I want to glorify my God in this earthly form by using the earthly gifts He has given me to as full an extent as I possibly can. I want to be able to look back and say, "Lord, I gave you everything I could think to give. I gave you a lovely and passionate devotion to my wife, many wonderful children, praise, love, devotion, money, time, prayer, you name it - I gave it." To me, that is the meaning of life. It is foreign to your godless and empty existence, but that is how it is for me. You know, God likes me. For some reason I don't understand, my God really gets a kick out of me. So, I want to give Him as much me as I can and I am very concerned that you numbskulls not infringe upon that effort.
By the way... what Paradise on Earth do YOU hail from?
That depends on your meaning for the word "hail." |
