But, may I ask you what has caused this sudden change? Or are you still amused by John Kerry quotes and NewsMax.com articles about Kerry and his family, but not amused by anything pertaining to the current administration?

I share your concern over the divisiveness of politics, so evident here on SI. I would say, though, that parody songs have a long history in US politics are not anything to get too bothered over. In fact, it seems to me we ought to spend more time leveling our frustrations at our elected officials and at political candidates, and less time targeting each other.

It gets ugly when we focus not on the officials and candidates, but on the citizens supporting or opposing them. If I were to show up on a dozen different threads here on SI and post, "I don't trust Bush," or "Kerry in 2004!," I would have a dozen different people calling me every name from Moron to Traitor....and a lot worse.

In my opinion, it is that level kind of political hatred that you should be worried about. Blind loyalty toward the incumbant is dangerous, especially when this loyalty manifests itself as anger toward all challengers and their supporters.

Elections, and all that goes with them, are supposed to be a good thing. I think that is part of our message to Iraq, and part of our justification for still being there.

I will continue to criticize Bush in my own way, and you can continue to make fun of Kerry by posting his silly quotes, but either way I still think you're a swell guy.
