I think Zeuspaul was probably being sarcastic about ANWR. Though drilling ANWR has always been the centerpiece of W's "Friends of Cheney" energy policy, such as it is. My understanding is that ANWR might make up for the other North slope fields that are currently on the downside of their productive life, but it's not comparable to the big mideast fields.

Saudia Arabia exports about 10% of world demand. If they collapsed who knows maybe we would see $100 oil, $200 oil who knows.

I don't know either.

How much would you pay to have gas so you could go to work?

I'm not sure, but I could easily pay much more than today. And with carpooling, much more still.

Have you noticed that gas-guzzlers are still very popular, even with the higher gas prices of late?

Economies would collapse and many many people would be out of work across the globe.

Bad things happen all the time, yet economic collapses are extremely rare. "Young man, there's a lot of ruin in a nation."
